PECULIAR PILOT – II

By: Ely Lagajino

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt…it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
Matthew 21:21-22 (NIV)

“Is that the only book you have?”

“Sir, here are a few more samples of our books”, Sir Jusay, our leader showed him the price list. He checked the expensive books and recommended, “These Bible stories and health books are good for you and your children”.

“I’ll take them”, the peculiar pilot confirmed, as I wrote the orders; but the man refused to sign the contract. Suddenly his outburst almost shocked us, “Bring all those books today and I’ll pay you in cash!”

Right away without thinking whether the man was serious or not I went to the ABC office at Pasay and talked to the kind manager, Mr. Salvador Napod, to release the books.

When I arrived, we showed him the books inside a huge box and our strange pilot commanded, “Wait,” signaling a stop sign, as he entered another room.

Ten minutes passed, twenty, and then thirty minutes, and we found ourselves still waiting. Suddenly, sir, Edmund stood and charged toward the room. Next thing I knew I was waiting all alone. Impatiently getting ready to enter, I saw the other pilots coming out of the room, all of them loud and laughing with my leader. I heard them congratulating our strange pilot for winning the chess tournament.  Finally, he came and paid all the books he ordered; his face beaming with pride. The jackpot for us!

Sir Edmund and I dropped by a famous restaurant and as we prayed for lunch, he thanked God for the blessings of our literature ministry and the peculiar pilot. He also prayed for all the men locked down in that office.

“Why did you set such a huge amount and we were able to surpass it too?” Sir Edmund tapped my shoulder.

“I have a very strong faith in God that He will bless us more, sir, because it’s my Birthday today.”
