God pronounces Eve and all women to be after her, the sentence for breaking the law. She would suffer pain in giving birth, but still there is goodness, in the feeling of happiness after delivering a baby.
To Adam, God says, “You must suffer by earning food through sweating and toiling between thorns and thistles because you listened to your wife.” But manual labor through sweating has become a complement to humans because it drives away high blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes and other illnesses.
From that time on, harmony in marriage can only work through submission to one another. Since Eve sinned first and dragged Adam into it, she would be under the control of her husband (Gen 3:16; PP page 33). But the boyfriend and girlfriend relationship is not under this submission.
The serpent shares the divine sentence to crawl on its belly and would eat dust. Today some snakes eat the dusty frogs.
The Lord allowed the last consequence of sin which is the banishment of the couple from Eden. They would be exposed to frustration, sorrow, pain, and finally, death. But God promised them, in the garden that the coming redeemer, Jesus Christ, would save them and this is the blessed hope and promise that our parents Adam and Eve claim…
